A Christmas Inspired Wedding | Round Lake Farms | Brillion, Wisconsin
Since she was a little girl, Molly dreamed of a Christmas wedding. As soon as Josh popped the question, she set off on making those dreams come true. On December 29th, the pair welcomed family and friends to join them for a beautiful and unforgettable celebration. Their Round Lake Farms wedding felt like a Hallmark special. It was cozy and magical, with subtle Christmas touches throughout.
We had first met Molly at her brother’s wedding a few year’s back. When she and Josh reached out, we were beyond touched that she had remembered us, and that she wanted us for their celebration. We reconnected at our favorite coffee shop and spent the morning getting to know the two of them, and sharing the vision they were planning at the beautiful new Brillion wedding venue. They had thought of everything, even custom embroidered shoes with their pups faces on them! When Molly stepped off to the restroom, Josh revealed that there was one last detail that he hadn’t shared with Molly yet. He was planning to surprise her with a live wedding painter, Katie Geis!
The Wedding Day
This was our first time out at Round Lake Farms, and we were greeted with such a warm welcome from their event manager Jillan! The space was already coming together so beautifully with silver and gold Christmas trees, bright red florals, and a warm and cozy vibe from the wood features of the venue itself. The girls had a suite to themselves in the lower level where Molly could stay tucked away from Josh until their first look and private vows.
When it was time, we brought them to the front balcony to see one another. Apparently Josh has a track record for not always being on time, but on that morning he was ready well before he needed to be! The anticipation and excitement for seeing his bride was so clear. They exchanged private vows and enjoyed a bit of time together before rejoining their bridal party for portraits.
We then made our way to Trinity Lutheran Church, where the two were wed by not one, but three of Josh’s cousins! To keep their day even more special and intimate, they invited several family members to perform the ceremony music. It was an afternoon near and dear to their hearts. Following the ceremony, they returned to dismiss their guests, allowing a bit of time to be spent with each of their loved ones.
Just as we returned to the venue, the sun was setting over the hill and we snuck in a few breathtaking golden hour portraits. They laughed alongside their wedding party, and lit up when they were together. I asked Molly how she was feeling, and she said that it had been everything she had hoped for. Little did she know, there was still something special waiting for her!
As they headed inside, Josh revealed his surprise. Tucked in the corner, already part way through her beautiful work of art was Katie! She was working on their wedding painting which would showcase their first dance amongst the warmth and coziness of the venue. Molly’s reaction was priceless, and Josh instantly knew he had picked the perfect gift.
Guests mingled and sipped on their cocktails, laughing through welcome toasts and watching as the two shared a first dance in front of the fire place. Their buffet style dinner also featured a carving station, hot cocoa bar, and two tables of desserts including Christmas cookies and mini pies! Live music kept the dance floor busy all night, and by every definition- Molly and Josh pulled off the perfect wedding.
Thank you both for sharing this day with us. It was wonderful to see the friends and family we were already familiar with, and to celebrate the start of your marriage alongside new faces as well! Cheers to you, and here’s hoping that your journey together is as warm and magical as your wedding day!
