Olivia is an artsy, outgoing soul. She wanted her senior session to capture her love of nature and her free spirit. After talking through her vision, we set out to find the perfect location to do just that. We landed on Indian Lake Park.
Her boho inspired senior session features wildflowers, golden light and a few surprise goats! For Olivia’s photos, she wanted to preserve an earthy and natural vibe. To do so, she chose mostly neutral outfits. To keep it playful and fun, she added in a colorful silk scarf.
Her original session had been rained out, despite her attempts to manifest clearer skies. However, all of that good energy returned because we could not have asked for a more beautiful evening. We started our night walking up to the overlook, but this gorgeous gravel pathway lined with wildflowers stopped us in our tracks. It was the perfect look for what she was going for.
After spending way too much time chatting about college, fashion, and the quickly ending summer, we realized she had left one of her outfits in the car. Her sweet mom made a mad dash down the hill, with a promise from Olivia to take her to Culvers afterwards. Their relationship and banter made me chuckle, and I loved every bit of it.
With mom on her way to grab her next outfit, Olivia and I kept shooting. She wanted a close up of her rings, so I asked her about the significance. She shared with me that she had been wearing them since before she started high school, and each one had their own story. I loved that we were able to capture something unique and sentimental to her.
We could have kept chatting about life all night, but I quickly realized the sun was setting. We made our way back down where we headed to the famous ruins across the road. It had been a few years since I had shot at Indian Lake, so when we climbed to the top and we’re greeted by goats I was caught off guard! Olivia LOVED it though, and I saw more and more of her carefree spirit emerge.
With the sun almost fully set, we ended our evening in a field of wildflowers. With her flowing linen dress and silk scarf, she really nailed that vision of a boho senior session. Special thanks to Sara with Sara Marie Artistry, for also helping bring that to life. Her soft glam hair and makeup was the perfect finishing touch to an incredibly beautiful senior session.
