Summer Senior Session | Pheasant Branch Conservancy | Middleton, WI
When I first read Sam’s spokesmodel application I pictured her as a rough and tough farm kid. She talked about working on trucks with her dad, staying busy with 4H, and being a multiple sport athlete. What she did not mention is that she is a natural born model, a total sweetheart, and perhaps the next Barbie!! Beauty AND brawn! Her summer senior session at Pheasant Branch was a dream!
Sam wanted a natural location with fields and florals for her summer senior session. I knew that Pheasant Branch Conservancy would be the perfect spot! It was close to where she had finished up hair and makeup Sara Marie Artistry, and it’s a location known for tall grasses and various flowers!
That morning we got an alert that our area was under a severe heat advisory. With her busy school and work schedule, Sam wasn’t sure she’d be able to reschedule, so we decided to move forward with plenty of water and built in time for breaks. I am SO glad we didn’t reschedule because by the time the sun dropped down, we could not have asked for a more beautiful evening.
As Sam, her mom and I made the trek around the park, we chatted about her goals and dreams. Sam shared that she is interested in a career working in special education, and talked about how her school participation in Share class helped spark that. Years ago I took that class, and went on to choose a career in Social Work with an emphasis on adults with disabilities (before becoming a photographer). It was really neat to connect on such a specific passion, and it made my heart happy to see someone so kind headed in that direction.
Thank you Sam for a fun evening, and a beautiful summer senior session!
