Bob and Talena’s fall wedding took place at private land on Lake Winnebago. The property is formerly know as Niagara Lakeview Orchard. It was purchased by Talena’s parents. Together, they transformed into the wedding space of her dreams. String lights lead the way to their ceremony space, followed by succulents and florals designed by her brother. Big white tents housed the reception, and no small detail was left untouched.
The morning of
Much like their engagement session, Bob and Talena’s day was filled with drizzly skies and dark clouds. Urban legend says that rain on your wedding day is good luck. I say these two should have nothing but good fortune ahead. With an uncovered ceremony space, we prepared ourselves with dozens of clear umbrellas ready for whatever came next.
As Talena finished her hair and makeup, we positioned her bridesmaids in the neighbor’s beautiful vineyard where they patiently awaited a first glance at the bride. Their reactions were so sweet and genuine, making it very clear that Talena is loved by many. We spent some more time in the vineyard where she shared in a few tears and hugs with both of her parents as well.
Meanwhile, Bob waited near the pond where his mom helped pin his boutonnière . There was a cool breeze coming from Lake Winnebago and it started to feel like a true fall wedding. As guests made their way up to the clearing for the ceremony, storm clouds rolled over and the skies darkened. Everyone proceeded with their fingers crossed! Their DJ played guitar as the wedding party made their way up the aisle. It was beautiful.
The Ceremony
By the time the two shared their hand written vows, nobody was thinking about the rain. Bob had everyone in tears as he looked Talena in the eye and told her how much he loved her, how special she is to him, and how all of his dreams are built around her. Her vows were equally as beautiful. She shared how much she loves Bob’s kindness to everyone, and how he makes her feel safe and protected always.
Together they planted a tree to represent their unity. When Talena’s big brother Brett officially announced them husband and wife, there was a wave of complete and total joy. The smile on their faces was contagious. After nine long years of waiting , their friends and families were excited to be celebrating the sweet newlyweds.
Guests made their way to cocktail hour where they grazed on charcuterie, enjoyed specialty drinks, and had fun taking photos amongst the beautiful wildflowers. With nearly 300 people there to celebrate, we made sure that Bob and Talena had plenty of time to greet their loved ones.
The Reception
Once the bride and groom were officially introduced, the party began. The kids broke open the dance floor with a few Disney classics, and guests enjoyed a BBQ dinner. After both their Matron of Honor and Best Man delivered heartfelt toasts, we saw more teary eyes and laughter throughout the tent. Bob and Talena’s first dance was filled with smiles, love and a few stolen kisses. Their day was finally here, and they were enjoying every bit of it.
As the evening continued on, the dance floor was always packed and Talena was usually in the center of it. Even the kids were having fun, twirling around with her in her dress. It was honestly hard to leave that night. Not only did they throw a good party, but we loved seeing how happy our new couple was together.
In the short year we’ve known one another, they’ve convinced me that their truly is no better match for one another. To the new Mr. and Mrs. Scott, thank you so much for including us on this incredibly special day. We are so happy for you both, and cannot wait to see all the luck that those rain clouds will bring you throughout your lives together! Cheers!
