Victoria is a bubbly and talkative senior who loves the outdoors, her daddy and seeking out her next adventure. When she’s not busy playing volleyball, basketball or golf, you’ll catch her at the gym, mowing the lawn or being a total FBLA Boss! As the baby of the family and only girl, Victoria’s mom wanted her senior year to be extra memorable. Victoria applied to be on the spokesmodel team, and to no surprise was chosen as one of this year’s reps! Her sweet personality was the perfect addition.
When I asked Victoria about her upcoming session, she just poured over with excitement. She described wanting her photos to make her feel pretty and show her natural happiness. With her love of outdoors in mind, and a vision for a bright and colorful senior session, I knew that the Aldo Leopold Nature Center in Monona would be the perfect spot for her senior pictures.
Victoria opted for the full experience, and started her afternoon by being pampered by my favorite HMUA, Sara. She was so cute when she arrived because she told me she felt like “a little star”. She wasn’t wrong. We walked the grounds in search for the perfect light, and as soon as we found it we started shooting her senior portraits. Victoria glowed, and her bright personality instantly came through. She was so easy going and joyful, I couldn’t stop taking her picture! Every now and then, I’d look at the back of my camera and geek out in excitement. Victoria and her mom would hurry over and we would all squeal together at how perfect the evening was. She is a total star, and I loved every bit of it.
My favorite part was when Victoria really started to open up and be herself. Her laugh was contagious and her energy was magnetic! I snapped one of her laughing at my camera after I told her to do something silly, and when I showed her mom she said “that’s my Victoria!”. THAT is her personality. Reactions like that, remind me of why this is so important. The truth is, a selfie or an instagram post might show someone’s beauty- but rarely does it capture their true personality. That is what I am preserving with each senior session. The person you are right now, in this season of life.
Thank you Victoria and Leona for joining me on such a beautiful evening in Monona for your senior pictures. They are some of my all time favorites.
