As Karly and Ian’s engagement session approached, I had been keeping an eye on the forecast for DeForest. It had looked more dark and gloomy by the minute. I sent a quick text to Karly to see how she was feeling and to my surprise- she and Ian said we could roll with the rain! Excited, we packed up our umbrellas and made our way to Token Creek Park in Southern Wisconsin to celebrate their engagement!
Just as we pulled in, the rain let up and the sun started to peak out. It felt magical, peaceful and warm. Mother Nature let out her dreamy golden light, and we seized every bit of it. We spent the rest of our evening in the tall grass, letting Karly and Ian’s natural connection unfold. We discovered that we have an uncanny amount of things in common. Each of us have little boys just a few months apart, we keep the same hot sauce in our fridge, make our quesadillas the exact same way and both have elderly Pomeranians! They love to travel together, and reminded us that we need to do more of that!
It was great to spend the evening laughing and getting to know these two. I don’t think there was a single moment of silence in the few hours that we were together. We even had the classic “midwestern goodbye” in the parking lot because it felt like there was just so much more we could have chatted about!
Karly and Ian, we are so excited to welcome you into our photography family. We cannot wait for your celebration later this year at the Yacht Club, and for the many more milestones to come! For now, enjoy this part of your adventure! Cheers!
