a sweet ceremony at Lussier Family Heritage Center
If an award for most relaxed and punctual wedding existed, Ben and Kaitlin would be the first to receive it! Not only did they stay nearly TWO hours AHEAD of schedule the entire day, everyone in attendance (the wedding party included) remained so calm and laid back throughout every event. If there was a moment of panic it was well hidden, because from our perspective their day could not have operated any more smoothly.
Ben and Kaitlin said “I do” at Madison’s beautiful Lussier Family Heritage Center. It was a sunny afternoon with a light breeze and all of the fall feels. Our day was off to a quiet and intimate start, as the pair shared a first look under the venue’s iconic oak tree. A few family members watched from a distance in adoration, and soon after the wedding party greeted them to kick off the day’s celebration.
We we’re blessed with so much portrait time, so David and I had a blast getting to know the wedding party while rolling through the majority of photos prior to the ceremony. There were so many laughs, and outgoing groomsmen, and for a while it felt like we were a part of the party ourselves!
As guests began filing in, Ben and Kaitlin had the opportunity to personally greet them and catch up with some that they had not seen in a while. Ben’s brother had guests laughing prior to the ceremony, as everyone joined in on a group wave! He quickly switched gears, as he delivered a heartfelt and genuine presentation.
Since the majority of portraits had already been taken (a major bonus to having a first look), the newlyweds made it to cocktail hour with more time to socialize and greet friends. The DJ had a fun game to keep the couple kissing all night. Guests took turns rolling a 20 sided dice in hopes of landing on the 20 to provoke a “passionate kiss”, but many fell short and we’re left with a simple peck. Nonetheless, it was entertaining for all to watch!
Blue Plate Catering provided a tasty dinner, followed by an assortment of sweets catered by Nothing Bundt Cakes! After guests had happily indulged, the couple took a few moments to head to each table to individually thank and catch up with their loved ones.
We snuck out briefly for some sunset portraits and allowed the newlyweds a moment to just be together before returning to the reception for first dances and an evening of stellar dance moves!
Ben and Kaitlin, thank you so much for including us on your wedding day! We so enjoyed spending the day with you and catching up with family members whom we had already met! (David and I shot Kaitlin’s brother’s wedding last year). We are still in such awe at how perfect your day was, and will forever remember it as on of the most relaxed weddings of our career! Cheers to you both!
