a fun hometown session
This week’s feature is Mason, the first ever male senior rep to join the Kuffel Photography Spokesmodel Team! While reading through his application the things that stood out to me most were his widely varied involvement in school and his community. From sports, to musicals, agriculture to woodworking- it seems Mason does it all! What I appreciated most though, was how much I could feel his personality coming through in his responses. He shared with me small wins, fun facts about himself and insight into who he really is as a person. Then when I met Mason, I knew that I had truly met my match in terms of energy and personableness. He is a golden retriever in human from- so fun, full of energy and ready for whatever the day brings!
Mason arrived to our Senior Spokesmodel Kickoff surrounded by ladies, and ready for his photo op! He had everyone laughing and was so outgoing and happy behind the camera. We had such a genuinely good time, and I think I can safely say that all of the moms were entertained. Then we met again at his individual session, and Mason brought that same level of same energy. His mom and I laughed so much at his session, and Mason just shined behind the camera. After hitting the riverwalk, football field, and a private pond, we ended Mason’s senior session at his family farm with some seriously epic smoke bomb shots. I’ll admit, I was nervous when he told me he wanted to try the smoke bomb, and both his mom and I were terrified reading the directions, but Mason had a vision, we went with it, and it did NOT disappoint!
As a Madison area photographer, I have a limited amount of travel dates available for senior sessions. Most of my seniors opt to come to this area for a change of scenery anyways! There are times when a senior has close ties to private land (for example a family farm), and in that case I do my absolute best to make travel dates available. Senior sessions should feel unique to you, and for some that means repping their sports gear on their family property and others it might be showing off their favorite outfit in front of a mural wall in downtown Madison! Or maybe, just maybe- testing out a smoke bomb!
