Senior Session | Lake Wisconsin | Portage, WI
Senior spokesmodel, Emerson was all smiles for her Portage area senior session on Lake Wisconsin! She came with a vision in mind, and her mom and dad ready to help execute it! After seeing something similar online, she asked me if she could bring a vintage chair filled with flowers to her session. I’m all for added props and things that help my seniors stand out, so I said go for it! When she shared her inspiration photos I could tell how excited she was, and I was looking forward to helping bring it to life. I asked if there was anything else she wanted to include and she said-water! So I was tasked with finding a location that would allow for both of her visions to be complete.
After a bit of google searching, social media scrolling, and finally driving out to a few locations, we landed on Lake Wisconsin in Portage! We found public land that had some open fields, water front, and of course, good light. I sent her a dropped pin of where to meet and we were set! It sometimes makes me laugh when we do things like that, but truly I am just grateful for their trust. Not everyone is willing to drive to the middle of nowhere with a chair in their trunk ready for a photo shoot- so thank you Emerson and family for your open minds!
When we met up that night, we all chuckled as they worked through the mishaps of falling flowers and tag teamed the assembly of the floral chair. It was really sweet to watch the three of them interact, and to see how much love and adoration Emerson’s parents have for her. Whether it was securing the flowers just right, fixing her hair after an outfit change, or holding her arm down to the waterfront- every action was done with love and care for her, as I’m sure they have her entire life.
All of that support shines through her in her many successes. Like most spokesmodels, Emerson is highly involved in her school and community. She spends her time playing softball, managing girls basketball, participating in student council, the yearbook, National Honor Society, FFA, and more. The night of her senior session was one of her only days off between travel softball and college tours. She’s driven and passionate, and it’s going to pay off some day soon.
Senior year is just as special for parents as it is teens. While the students find their confidence and chase their dreams, parents get to witness the children that were once so little, bloom into incredible young adults. I love when parents join for a senior session, and allow themselves a few hours to just watch their senior shine. Thank you Tracy and Keith for sharing your bright daughter with me for the evening, and thank you Emerson for bringing so much excitement and fun ideas to your session!
