Haley is a bit of a firecracker who radiates confidence and isn’t afraid to seek out exactly what she wants in the world. She loves the outdoors, animals and making life fun. When she applied to be a senior spokesmodel, one of the things that I loved about her application was how she individually listed all the types and numbers of animals she has. Girl clearly knew the way to my heart…
For Haleys senior session she wanted to include all of her favorite things; hunting, trap shooting, her cowgirl hat, and to my complete delight- her wiener dog! With so much personality packed into one session, I feel like our time together flew by.
It was a warm, summer session with the high close to 90 degrees. Although poor Haley was literally sweating her boots off- my all time favorite makeup artist, Sara, kept her looking flawless. Haley rocked every moment of that shoot. Her sweet mom tagged along and with each new pose and location came a wave of “honey you look so beautiful!” and so many other encouraging words. It’s no wonder Haley has a love for uplifting others, she’s clearly been brought up with that same energy her whole life. It was refreshing, and made my heart so happy. Each time I showed her the back of the camera, she got more and more excited. Haley had never had a professional photo shoot before, and she kept squealing about how good everything looked and how much she was loving them. Naturally, I shared in her excitement.
Senior sessions are meant to celebrate and showcase who you are and all that you love. Haley was determined to make the most of that. While she looked amazing in her first outfit, she looked her happiest when we focused on the trap shooting and hunting portion of her senior session. She was so excited to show off her gun and first place medal, and had even brought a shooting clay with 2023 written on it to bring in her graduation year! She was the first girl to ever haul out her duck decoys to Madison, and I swear that camouflage is her color. Her session was different in all of the right ways, and I feel like we truly captured Haley!
Thank you both for making your way to Madison, for letting me love on your pup and for trusting me with these photos even though I know NOTHING about hunting or trap shooting. You made this evening so memorable, and I will forever smile when I think about you saying “Dang, I look hot!”. Never lose that confidence in yourself and love for life Haley, it’s truly incredible.
