a senior sessions with spring country vibes
As I prepare for my final few Class of 2022 Senior Spokesmodel features, it makes me a little sad that we have just one last shoot all together. I feel like it was just yesterday that Morgan and I were running around in the flowers, batting away mosquitos and trying not to sweat as we dodged prickers and laughed at ourselves (or mostly me and how ridiculous I probably looked tripping over every weed and divet in the field). I know this class is eager to move on to what is next, but I will genuinely miss each and every one of them.
While reading through Morgan’s application I remember thinking, “wow this girl is driven, bright and compassionate”. She shared with me her dream of becoming a pediatric nurse, her love for people and adventure, and her academic goals and impressive 4.0 GPA. Morgan struck me as someone who was well respected and looked up to. When we met in person, her sweet nature and humble personality solidified that everything she had shared during the application process was genuine to her. Much like the rest of the team, she made the perfect addition to our group.
Morgan wanted something more nature focused for her session. She liked the idea of florals and open grasses, a bit of a spring country vibe! She chose Token Creek Park in DeForest (one of my favorite locations) and from the first test shot, she instantly took to the camera. The image on the left was the first shot we took! Though she had been a little quiet amongst the group, Morgan knew EXACTLY what she was doing in front of the camera. She took direction so well, and allowed herself to keep moving from one pose and location to the next. She chose a color pallet that fit the season perfectly and complimented her light features beautifully. Her entire session was so easy going and fun.
Along for the photo shoot were Morgan’s mom and younger brother, which is always an added bonus for me! I love meeting the families of my seniors and getting to know a little bit more about their sense of “home”. Both Morgan and her brother were so respectful, relaxed and calm in nature and her sweet mom could not have been more supportive. She hung back at times to let Morgan be the focus, but occasionally throughout she would offer words of encouragement and get excited each time she saw the back of the camera. Parents are ALWAYS welcome to attend sessions. I recognize how big of a milestone it is for you and there is always a warm invitation waiting for you. My best advice for those that do, is to be like Morgan’s Mom! Give space to let your child shine, and then show up for encouragement throughout. Thank you Misty and Morgan for such a beautiful session and wonderful year!
