a laid back fall session
Cody and Sara are the kind of chill and overly cool couple that you only wish you could grow up to be. Cody’s long hair, and laid back vibe could be plucked straight from a movie, and Sara is a makeup artist in the Stoughton, WI area (so hello flawless!). Cody adores her, and is one of the most kind hearted, loving partners I’ve ever seen in my life. What I loved most about this session was how much the two of them giggled and laughed with one another, and how many times they shared a kiss or sweet embrace even when I hadn’t prompted them to do so. After nearly 10 years together, they still have a spark about them that makes you feel like you’re amongst two teenage lovers (in the best way). Their movement and connection with one another was so natural.Like many Wisconsin fall seasons the weather began to cool off so Cody and Sara opted for a warm and cozy wardrobe. Their color pallet was the perfect match for this glowy sunset session. We made our way out to a beautiful nature path and walked around laughing, chatting, and searching for the perfect spots. The chilly temps, made for the sweetest cozy shots!
Admittedly, Cody wasn’t too excited for their session, but as we headed back to our cars he chuckled and said “you know what, that was actually pretty fun!”. This is something I hear A LOT, especially from men, and when I ask what made it fun the answer is always the same. “It was easy, we felt like we were just hanging out, you made us laugh, we kind of forgot we were even taking pictures, etc”. Thats my goal as your photographer. Not only am I here to make you look good, I’m here to make you feel good too! I don’t want to snap a stiff, formal shot and move on, I want to capture YOU, your feelings, your connection. When you look back at these photos ten years from now I want you to remember exactly how you felt in that moment. I’m here to freeze time.
