A Rustic Wedding in Door County, WI
Tanner and Aislynn’s wedding day was a long waited and much anticipated celebration. After facing quite a few obstacles and scheduling snafus, they landed upon the SWEETEST little barn venue in Door County called About Thyme Farm. The name itself couldn’t have been more fitting! In all seriousness, these two had so much to celebrate as they finally had the wedding they had been planning (and replanning) for so long!
The morning began as Aislynn’s sweet personal attendants laid out the decorations, stationary and small details that Aislynn had carefully prepared and organized ahead. Meanwhile, Tanner and his groomsmen hung around the farm with their handsome golden doodle (and star of the day) Rudy! When the girls arrived on site, Tanner hid so he wouldn’t see his lovely bride until she came down the aisle. A few storm clouds rolled over, but the rain held off and a beautiful ceremony commenced.
After, the wedding party hopped on board a Door County Trolley for a fun and informational cruise to Peninsula State Park, Ephraim and Fish Creek, stopping for portraits at each location. We we’re hit with a bit of rain, but with the help of our clear umbrellas we made the most of it! When we returned to the farm, Tanner and Aislynn’s guests we’re eager to greet the newlyweds and sit down to a DELICIOUS meal catered by Chives. I’m still drooling over the butternut squash ravioli!
Like many weddings, guests encouraged the pair to kiss with a klinking of glasses. Prepared for this tradition, Tanner made an announcement that the two would happily kiss- but for a donation! Throughout the evening they collective raised just shy of $500 to donate to both the Lung Cancer and Pancreatic Cancer Foundation in honor of their late father and grandmother.
As the evening rolled on, the newlyweds danced, ate and celebrated amongst friends. Not once was the dance floor empty, thanks to Andy with DJ Quadi. Guests had a wonderful time, and we we’re all so happy that this day had finally arrived.
David and I felt so honored that Tanner and Aislynn chose us for this special day. When the pandemic forced them to reschedule we were one of the FIRST vendors they contacted so they could be sure to reserve a new date that we would be available for. When they thanked us during their dinner toast, I felt a literal ping in my heart. We are so glad that it all worked out, and incredibly touched that we got to share in this special day. Cheers to many more years of happiness and adventure!
